Hello all, long time no update!
I have started my convention year off at Katsucon 19. This was my first year ever going and I have to say, I had a marvelous time!
I have to first give a shout out to my ladies Adrienne, Sarah, and Nicole, these girls made my con the wonderful experience that it was and without them, I would probably not have had much fun at all.
Katsucon featured the first costume I have ever made entirely on my own!  Sarah, patterned everything for us and she continuously guided me, with much patience and kindness in the ways of sewing. Sarah, Adrienne, and I did a version of Magic Knight Rayearth costumes, their adorable maid outfits from the Clamp artbook. While I did not get to grow up with Rayearth like many did, I fell in love with the series and most especially Hikaru after the girls proposed that we do a set of Rayearth costumes (with many more to come!) We of course had to enter these costumes in the hall cosplay contest and since Sarah is a big overachiever, we had to enter in the Master Craftsman division. I have to say this was very intimidating for me, I was seriously fearing I was going to bring the girls down! But we ended up getting a judges award! And at a con like Katsu, where people pull out all the big stops, we were all very proud of ourselves!
A week before the convention I also pulled out a Sailor Venus and a Sailor Thor costume, with some more help from Sarah!
All in all, Katsucon was filled with good friends, good food, and good times. I look forward to going back next year, making new memories and meeting even more new wonderful friends!
Next up Animazement in May! That will mark the one year anniversary of my con going days!
